CANTON, Ohio — Influential special teams coach Mike Westhoff, former San Francisco 49ers offensive line coach Bobb McKittrick and longtime defensive coach Ted Cottrell will be honored with the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Awards of Excellence for the 2026 class.

The Hall announced Monday that the three assistants were picked as part of the fifth class for the Awards of Excellence who will be honored later this year.

LB Rozeboom leaves Panthers to sign with Bucs

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are signing free agent linebacker Christian Rozeboom, agents Chris Gittings and Jeremiah Sirles told NFL Network on Monday.

The move keeps Rozeboom in the NFC South. He led the Carolina Panthers in tackles last season when he had 122.

He is the second member of the defending NFC South-champion Panthers’ defense to join the division rival Bucs this offseason. Defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson signed with the Buccaneers earlier this month after the Panthers released him.

The Seattle Seahawks are matching the Jacksonville Jaguars‘ multiyear offer sheet to wide receiver Jake Bobo, a source told ESPN’s Field Yates.

Bobo, a restricted free agent, signed the offer sheet on Friday, and the Seahawks had five days to match. According to NFL Network, the offer sheet is worth $5.5 million and included $4.5 million guaranteed. It can be worth up to $7 million if incentives are met.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba, the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year, has reached agreement with the Seattle Seahawks on a four-year, $168.6 million contract extension that makes him the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history, sources told ESPN.

The deal averages $42.15 million per year and includes over $120 million guaranteed, both setting records for a wide receiver.

With this new agreement, the two-time Pro Bowler is contractually tied to Seattle through the 2031 season. The Seahawks already exercised Smith-Njigba’s fifth-year option for 2027 — worth approximately $23.9 million — last week.
