Travis Kelce’s fandom of the Cleveland sports teams knows no bounds. Now, he’s taken a financial interest in them, too. The Chiefs‘ star tight end purchased a minority share of the Guardians, according to ESPN.

“I have so much love for this city,” Kelce told ESPN. “I say it all the time: I’m just a kid from the Heights living the dream. Shortly after the Bengals were eliminated from last year’s playoffs, Joe Burrow made his displeasure known in no uncertain terms.

“We don’t want to be in the spot we are in now, so something’s got to change,” Burrow said Dec. 31. “Whether it’s players we have continuing to improve and get better and play championship-caliber football or bringing in guys that will or whatever it may be. Obviously, something has to [change].”

Speaking Wednesday amid voluntary workouts, Burrow struck a much different tone.

“We have everything we need in that locker room,” he said. “We just gotta go and make it happen.”

The 2026 NFL Draft is a thing of the past, and now it’s time for the 257 selected players to join their teams by signing rookie contracts. Rookies can participate in minicamps and other offseason activities while not under contract, but once training camp rolls around, they need to be under contract to avoid complications.

Complications do indeed happen. Signing a rookie deal is usually a formality, with the rookie wage scale from the 2011 NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement laying out non-negotiable salary slots for the rookie wage scale. Still, there are a few instances in which

These five NFL playoff contenders face brutal paths after 2026 schedule release

Not all NFL schedules are created equal. Yes, every team gets 17 games in 18 weeks, but there are a multitude of factors that go into assessing teams’ prospects for their season slates. There are the easy ones, like using last year’s records to determine strength of schedule, and slightly more difficult ones, like using the projected opponents’ records to tabulate strength of schedule. There are other factors, too — rest advantages and disadvantages, bye week timing, location, weather, etc. And the NFL doesn’t appear to try to even out some of those factors, either.

We could go on and on.

Amid a near-total teardown and early-stage rebuild of their roster this offseason, the Dolphins ensured at least one of their cornerstones isn’t going anywhere by agreeing to a four-year, $64 million extension with De’Von Achane last week, per CBS Sports lead NFL insider Jonathan Jones.

It was a “put your money where your mouth is” situation. The Dolphins had already traded away both Jaylen Waddle (Broncos) and Minkah Fitzpatrick (Jets) by the time new GM Jon-Eric Sullivan said unequivocally last month Achane wasn’t available for trade. Now, Achane has one of the largest contracts at his position.

2026 NFL schedule reality or overreaction: 49ers doomed by tough matchups, travel? Lions primed to rebound?

The NFL schedule is here, and now we wait.

And wait, and wait, and wait.

There are still nearly four months until the season begins. There are OTAs and mandatory minicamps, but even then, all eyes will be on training camp, then the preseason and then the regular season. That gives us plenty of time to react and, often, overreact to the offseason. This offseason addition — veteran or rookie — is what will put this team over the top. This schedule is way too hard, and that team is going to miss the playoffs. This schedule, though, is easy, and that
