Three-time time Pro Bowl tight end Zach Ertz is re-signing with the Washington Commanders, a source confirmed to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Saturday.

The deal is for one-year and worth $6.25 million with a maximum value of $9 million.

Ertz, who ranks sixth on the all-time receptions list for tight ends with 775, underwent a career resurgence last season, his first with the Commanders.

He caught 66 passes for 654 yards and seven touchdowns — his highest amount of scoring receptions since he had eight in 2018 with the Philadelphia

Sources: Lions to re-sign Davenport for 1-year

The Detroit Lions are re-signing defensive end Marcus Davenport for one year at the $4.75 million maximum, sources confirmed to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Saturday.

NFL Network was first to report the re-signing.

The Lions signed Davenport to a one-year, $7.095 million contract in free agency last year after his one season with the Minnesota Vikings (2023) and five with the New Orleans Saints from 2018 to ’22.

However, Davenport, 28, appeared in just two games during the 2024 season. He missed Week 2 with a groin injury

Jaguars trading WR Kirk to Texans, source says

The Jacksonville Jaguars are trading wide receiver Christian Kirk to the Houston Texans for a 2026 seventh-round pick, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday.

A source had told Schefter on Wednesday that the Jaguars planned to release Kirk when the new league year begins next Wednesday. But they have instead found a trade partner within their own division.

The seventh-round pick headed to Jacksonville originally belonged to the Rams, the source told Schefter.

The Cincinnati Bengals have granted All-Pro defensive end Trey Hendrickson permission to seek a trade.

“It’s been an honor and privilege to represent Cincinnati over the last four years,” Hendrickson, who led the NFL with 17.5 sacks last season, said in a statement released to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday. “I love this city and organization. I appreciate the privilege of now being allowed to explore my options.”

The Cincinnati Bengals have placed the franchise tag on wide receiver Tee Higgins for the second straight year.

Higgins announced the news Monday by posting on X, “tag.”

The Bengals later announced the move, stating they did so “with the intent of continuing to work toward a long-term deal in Cincinnati” with Higgins.
