Broncos asst. arrested for alleged assault of cop

Broncos outside linebackers coach Michael Wilhoite was arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer over the weekend in Denver, according to jail records.

Wilhoite, 38, was booked in the Denver jail on Sunday on a no-bond hold. He has a court appearance Monday on a charge of second-degree assault of a peace officer.

The Broncos issued a statement saying that they are aware of the situation and in the process of gathering more information.
